The taste of tomorrow begins with responsibility

At Grupo Lacasa we believe in sustainability as a way to understand the present and focus on the future.

Our pillars

Grupo Lacasa’s commitment to sustainability is based on four main pillars:

Sustainable raw materials

Caring for what we do starts with caring for where it comes from. We choose sustainable raw materials and work with suppliers who share our values. This is how we ensure responsible sourcing that supports local communities and protects the environment.

Decrease in environmental impact

Our commitment to the planet is reflected in every action. We are always improving our processes to optimise water and energy use, reduce emissions and generate renewable energy with solar panels.

Responsible packaging

We are constantly rethinking our packaging to protect the product and the planet. We innovate with sustainable materials, strive to use less plastic and redesign packaging to combine functionality, quality and respect for the environment.

Commitment to people and the environment

We believe that true progress is built with people. This is why we promote social, educational and employment initiatives that encourage inclusion, equality and work-life balance. Because growing also means improving the lives of those around us.

Projects that inspire real change

A place to smile

Commitment to children in hospital

Opening of a new terrace designed to provide a play area for children in hospital and their families during their stay. An accessible, colourful and lively space, created through the initiative and care of the hospital staff. At Lacasa, we have been fortunate to collaborate by contributing our grain of cacao to make it possible.

Chocolate starts with them

Commitment to local communities

At the Solea plantation in the Ivory Coast, 100% of the cacao is harvested by hand, and 90% of those doing so are women. They are the driving force behind the Lacasa KKO Foundation, boosting social and economic development in their communities. This working model reflects our real commitment to people and responsible farming.

A sweet spot, a gesture of support

Supporting the families of hospitalised patients

In collaboration with Eboca and the Ronald McDonald House Charities, we have installed a charity vending machine at the Miguel Servet Children's Hospital in Zaragoza. All proceeds are donated to fund the Ronald McDonald Family Room, a dedicated space where families can rest and stay close to their children during their hospital stay.

Design for all

More accessible products

At Grupo Lacasa we are incorporating Braille onto our nougat packaging ensuring each product can be easily identified by touch. This system of raised dots allows blind people to access information independently. An initiative that reflects our commitment to accessibility equality and an inclusive experience for all.

Solidarity in chocolate form

Supporting breast cancer research

To mark International Breast Cancer Day we launched the Lacasa ""Mi Momento"" milk chocolate strawberry and almond bar. During the campaign all profits were donated to breast cancer research.

Packaging that cares for the planet

Plastic reduction (50%)

We have redesigned the Lacasitos 3-pack to reduce its environmental impact. The new packaging incorporates 66% recyclable paper and reduces plastic usage by more than 50%. In its first year, we have manufactured 9 million units.

Driving change from within

Energy optimisation

We are moving towards a more efficient industry thanks to two key actions at our facilities: the replacement of coating pans with high energy-efficiency equipment and the implementation of a new cooling generation system with heat recovery. Both initiatives reinforce our commitment to more innovative responsible and sustainable production.

Steps that make a difference

Social integration

Lacasitos ""Solidarity Socks"" were created to give visibility and prominence to people with disabilities. With every pair consumers support the Prodis Foundation to which 100% of the profits are donated. Designed and manufactured in Spain using organic cotton in partnership with Carocho Calcetines this project combines fashion sustainability and social commitment to transform the daily lives of people with disabilities.

The taste of the road

Plastic reduction (65%)

We have reduced the plastic in our Mentolín bags by 65% resulting in over three million units produced with a lower environmental footprint.

Certified quality

We are pioneers in food-safety certifications, and our factories, with over 170 years of chocolate-making expertise, are a guarantee of trust for customers around the world.

Transparency, our best guarantee

We believe that sustainability only makes sense if it is communicated clearly. That’s why we share our Corporate social responsibility report with you, showing our progress, results and lessons learned in sustainability.
